I worked for a few companies like this where they just want the bottom line and if you refuse to rip customers off (up selling) they threaten your job.

If you can't do the work yourself, go to a reputable nationwide accepted chain of car service shops.

Or...you can change your own oil and avoid these rip off merchants in the first place.

Corruption in any society becomes endemic when those at the top are seen as "getting away with it"...
That explains a lot..🤨

This is why I do my own car maintenance barring anything with the check engine light.

Everyone should know how to do basic maintenance things themselves, oil changes, flat tire changes. Basic stuff so you can avoid scams like this

How about just decline the other services and only do the oil change lol

What happen to the fraud investigation? Did he file charges for fraud? NOT. Canada is run by by fraudulent franchise courts and judges. The only thing Canadian law courts is good at is stealing from its middle class that cannot afford to hire crooked lawyers that sell out its clients to extensive litigation bills. If one refuse to sign a contract so they can impute fabricated debt, the frauds throw you in jail to force you to sign a contract or disclose your assets. Example is the treason Family Courts.

HOSPITALS HAVE TO ANSWER FOR THEIR FRAUD TOO - I HAD A 'C' SECTION AND ENDED UP WITH A SLASHED BLADDER AND ONGOING TROUBLES IN THAT AREA EVER SINCE .. AND WHAT ADDS INSULT TO INJURY IS THAT I WAS NEVER TOLD, I FOUND OUT YEARS LATER AFTER AN ULTRASOUND., TOO LATE TO SUE.

So. Ya telling me ya got these dudes permission to show their face?

I change my oil and do maintenance on my own unless it is too complex for me to mess with.

I had my oil changed at Walmart and then my mechanic change my oil 6 months later and found that they put the wrong oil filter on my car.

Most businesses push up selling. That's just how the business side of things work but to lie to customers about what they need is a whole other story.

So why is the business not shut down and the owner not arrested?

It should be remembered that an oil change made without an oil filter change is virtually pointless. I’m a Consultant Automotive Engineer and courts expert witness with over 30 years practical experience and I have seen 100’s of these type of scams throughout my career. One effective way of protecting yourself, especially with component replacement is to demand that the original part that was replaced is given to you after the replacement part has been fitted. This is by no means fool proof but it does fire a warning shot across the bows of potential fraudsters. Insist on this before you authorise the work to be carried out. Don’t just accept what these people tell you. Always consult your owners manual to determine what additional work is required at each service interval. Additionally check your vehicle owners manual for the correct specifications of oils and fluids and the intervals of service requirements. Compare these to the products that you are offered. The vehicle manufacturers always set specific parameters for these products and it can be vital that they are conformed to otherwise damage to your vehicle can easily occur. If necessary get a second opinion elsewhere before you commit.

Just had dealership not only skip the oil drain and filter, they overfilled my oil then called trying to get me to trade in my "rugged running" vehicle. Thanks to my wife not wanting to take it in and my car coming due for oil change I did hers. I knew right when the sludgy oil came out something was up. I kept the oil, then I got the filter out and it was twisted up and unique. So I put it aside with the oil, 8 plus freakin quarts. Went back to the large well known dealership and asked for a refund, they told me "they don't do that". So i bought an oil filter for the car from their parts dept. Wouldn't you know, not a match. I talked to corporate for their brand only to get a call back from someone again not willing to make this right. What should i do at this point?

Last winter i needed a new battery for my car and replace it myself. Went to MIDAS (Belgium service maintenance for Cars Company) putted my old battery on the desk asced for a new one, Guy said a you're Lucky i have one it's the last one we have this type, goes to the shelf and brings it to he's counter. Immediately i saw this was not a new battery no plastic caps on the poles ( they put this on in fabric for storage anticorosion) also scratch marcs on the poles so i allready knew it had clamps on it (from an old car) this Guy looked shoked whem i told him that back to shelf i get annother one he says i said don't need it annymore from you. So i know now there is a big scam going on they take battery's out of crashed vechicules that look still in tact, than probbably clean them an charge them and putt them in Cars when customers drop there Cars off topic get battery changed. You would never know you pay for a new battery and the placed in an old one it Will last but how long? CarMechanics is one off the jobs where you can realy rip off People's money because some things are not possible to prove! 😒

Stick to a mecanic you can trust yeah right, good luck finding one. Everything in life you can't do yourself or don't have Anny knowledge from and you Will get ripped off. Learn much yourself and you save money right away

All the fast fit companies are a ripoff.

Look at the “insiders” they supposedly work for the most shady business around but still want their faces blurred because they are still taking money from you. Never trust the words of anyone who says they are trying to help you but want their identity concealed. These types of people are lying to you.

Or they could just be protecting themselves from lawsuits. Someone they scammed could recognize them. Not only that, they may still need a job and if theyre seen doing this they would get fired and wouldnt get hired anywhere. Just because something is anonymous doesnt mean its automatically a lie. Especially when in the video you JUST watched shows all the things they said actually happened in the test.....
