This '65 Lincoln Continental was purchased on ebay sight unseen, but when the shipping company delivered the car, the new owner quickly realized why you should never buy a car sight unseen. The car was in bad condition; there was a ton of rust in all the usual places and under the carpet the car was diseased with rust. By the time it came back from media blasting he was already in deep ($$). This Lincoln’s future became very bright when the owner found MetalWorks Classic Auto Restoration in Eugene, Oregon to handle the restoration.

Very nice. The only thing I hate is the new dash panel. I had a 65 for a year and I loved the simplicity of the original dash. Otherwise a wonderful job.

I fondly remember standing up in the back seat of one of these as a child with my younger brother, unencumbered by anything resembling a seat belt or other safety restraint. Meanwhile, up front, my perpetually inebriated Dad would be yelling at Mom to get the map out of the glove compartment and figure out where we were - as we rolled through towns along Route One with little or no regard to the speed limit. Mom and Dad would of course be smoking non filtered Chesterfields, with the windows rolled up - and my brother and I would occasionally toss a paper cup or hamburger wrapper out the window as needed.

This is a true American Masterpiece. With a touch of modernity, I don't even know what to call it. Pristinely beautiful.
