Incredibly 8 - Yes, EIGHT from this game made the basketball hall of fame!

clyde had a horrible game.

I meant Akeem.

Only wish Rob Williams would have had a good game... Maybe it would have been a different outcome. But props to UNC, it was their year

Hard to believe this is the official NCAA On Demand version with that constant annoying operator recording playing. So annoying.

The shot clock really made amateur players get better bc we barely see half of what MJ or Worthy we’re capable of until they got to the league.

What is that auto voice on in the background? Though I am immensely grateful to be able to see this game, she's getting on my nerves!!!

Drexler flopping back then.

I'm a huge UNC basketball fan but no shot clock is the dumbest fucking shit that ever existed !!!! WOW. holding the ball for multiple minutes is just fucking trash lol

8:35 Worthy was a bad man. He was 6'9 making moves like that, was one of the pioneers for what power forwards are today

26:05 Ooo...Nasty.

Hakeem's third foul was the biggest play of this game. He personally shut down the ent3Carolina offense.

Crazy thing Olajuwon didn't start!!!

1:02:18 Olajuwan gave a lesson to Jordan in respect of who is the boss

If Olajuwan is the boss, Jordan is the owner

Perkins arm length just jumps off the screen at ya. Perkins is all arms and legs where as Akeem had a long body and relatively short legs. You can see Perkins legs are actually longer than Akeem's, but Akeems body is about 6 inches longer than Perkins.

Never understood how Matt Dougherty started for UNC - if you watch games he never really did much of anything and was soft - maybe he had pictures of someone, haha

Dean Smith was a mathematician by trade, and kept meticulous statistics on every shot from every position by every player. He "allowed" his players shots only from certain positions in certain situations based on their stats. This is why he is the only man to regularly keep MJ below 20 pts/game. Matt Doherty was essentially allowed only to make layups. He was there to distribute, rebound, play defense, make assists/blocks/steals - he generally did a good job at these things. You'll notice Jimmy Black was also rarely allowed to shoot also. Dean was autistic about these things, which is why he was hard to play for, but at the same time he had a ridiculously high winning percentage, and also had a ridiculously high percentage of wins in close games.

Guys - watch this game and other key games - Dougherty literally overpassed and turned it over several times because he appeared literally scared to death to shoot or make a move to the basket. Cmon. Lets be honest.

Then I'm afraid you don't know much about basketball. Matt was an extremely fundamentally sound player who understood court space, and was perhaps UNC's first real point forward.

Dougherty should have played with a pink sweater tied around his neck. Dean Smith really went out of his way to assemble an anti-ghetto team.

There's only one ball. You need a role player who can pass.

Worthy at 8:40 end to end with a dunk - amazing - prelude to "showtime"!!

Two very different teams North Carolina executing there plays , playing fundamental basketball! while houston makes bad passes , takes low percentage shots , plays street ball not much in the way of a set organized offense!
