There is also the French Lumiere Brothers that invented the motion picture camera AND made short films before Edison as well (its also widely believed that Edison took the idea from the brothers after he saw their films).

Edison all so beat and kill his rivals he had a whole team of guys for that

17:57 I spent several days on a train once, and in my experience, you DO start to notice and recognize the other people there after that much time. You see them in the dining car, the observation deck, etc. At one point, I fell down while getting off at a stop. People were saying "I saw you fall, are you ok?" For days after. You have to squeeze uncomfortably close to people when you pass in the extremely narrow hallways, too. I highly doubt that NOBODY would have remembered seeing him if he was there. Not even ONE person?

Guys you are American .no need to think too much ...how come he can't get patented in America only ,Edison a thug as you said yourself .he is the one ,they wanted to take his project ,and want to silence him .

Hate Edison all you want but the man was a true capitalist.

It's hard to watch something like this because it's so frustrating

A movie should be done in his honor!

Edison was a thief not an inventor. He stole all of his so call inventions.

WHAT A DICHEAD

Edison also may not have invented the lightbulb. Look it up

Edison invented pretty much just one thing: Modern R&D by just hiring a lot of smart people to work on the stuff he told them to work on.

Before that, inventors usually came up with things and had to find sponsors.

Everything else Edison did was stealing other people's ideas (Usually from people working for him, but... not always.), and marketing.

This episode was solely made so Ryan could claim Louis as the real creator of motion picture.

From now on i will always correct people by saying Louis Le Prince was the true inventor and father of film. Hopefully this video blows up, helps, spreads and brings Louis back to life with his name in the history books as the true father of film.

Daily reminder that Thomas Edison was a HACK

I mean Thomas Edison is a genius. He was just making money. Dudes a fucking legend

We did learn about him in my film class as his story is very interesting. But not only did Edison steal the idea of motion pictures from Louis Le Prince, but also his employee, Dickson who had also been inventing one, and he pretty much completely took that and called it his own.

Ima correct my teacher now:")

A Hornets starter jacket? That's pretty specific lol..no offense to the case

Edison stole so many actually talented people work, he’s like th Lockhart of our history. Nikola Tesla, Louis Le Prince, H.P. Brown who the hell else??

only one person Edison couldn't steal from, Nikolai Tesla!

He wanted to disappear because he knew he was to killed and his invention was being stolen somehow? strokes beard

Who else is in love with Shane’s glasses?

dude the same thing happened to Nikola Tesla he actually invented the electricity system but then mysteriously was murdered and then ben franklin and edision came out saying they invented light and electricity.

Who's Edison? Never heard of him.

The last theory is ludicrous... if the was indeed alive why wouldn't he come forward later in court?

+kat - corky beebo it does not make any sense.. if you are Alive there's no reason not to appear in court.. specially when your son is stepping up for you - you'd have to be dead already!

because the whole point was that he wanted to disappear???

True

What happened to Switzerland

Maybe Edison kidnapped him because he was there to see the motion pictures and said”let me steal this invention and kill him off”.

He time traveled away
